Office Update Error

I have been having trouble downloading/installing windows and office updates.
When I looked in the event viewer, I saw the following error. What does it
mean and how do I fix it?

"The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( OfficeUpdateV3 ) cannot be
found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or
message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following
information is part of the event:
V3_2|512138|INSTALL|MSO11_6409_INTL||2005-02-08 13:40:45|9|FAIL|00000000|The
operation completed successfully.|."

Carl, please post more information to try and help you out. Do you see
failures on every Office update you download? Since when? What version of
Office do you have? Have you followed the suggestions on the site?
With a few answers we can narrow down the problem a bit more.
A good first step is to run Help -> Detect and Repair from your Office apps
just to make sure that all settings are in order.

OK. I am using SBS 2003 for my server (which includes Exchange 2003) with
OWA, and Outlook 2003.

This happens with any update I try to download (Windows and Office). I have
asked some other news groups, but they don't have many answers. I also have
wondered if our Pix Firewall isn't getting in the way, but no answers there,
either.

I hope this helps.

If both Windows and Office Update are failing then something bigger is wrong
since they use different mechanisms to work. Try disabling your firewall
temporarily to see if you can download updates.
Other than the event viewer, what error message do you see when trying
Office Update?

It tells me "this page cannot be displayed".

Just in case it is a Pix problem, is there a Cisco newsgroup that would be
able to help me? If so, how do I subscribe to it?
