office update error

I am having problems updating Office XP. I try to install SP3 and it will
download and install, but right at the end it will say that the installation
failed with a red "!" icon. Please help me I was susessful before, but
uninstalled and now reinstalled but now does not work, this is dum.

I experienced similar problems with Office 2003, and found that if i
installed elements individually it worked ok, but for one. That
particular update i didn't really need, and ignored it; it was for
Outlook spam filter functions, and i've chosen to use Thunderbird
instead. It is also possible to permanently hide items that you chose
not to install, and to restore those hidden items from the 'Other
Options' panel on the left. I hope that this helps some. good luck.
