office update failed

Auto updates for MS office 2003 will not install after being downloaded
automatically. They seemed to fail during a check of my MS Frontpage 2003
app. I tried to "detect and repair" FP 2003. "D&R" wouldn't work. Inserted
disk to Reinstall/Repair FP 2003 from disc. Got message "Install Failed."
Where do I go from here?

I have considered that; but the root cause of my update problems appears to
be a Front Page issue. If I can not detect and repair Front Page, then Auto
update is the least of my concerns, right now. I feel if I can go back to a
"clean" install of FP2003 (without having to completely unistall and start
over), I should at least be able to "detect and repair" FP without regard to
the auto update issue.
