Office Update fails with product CD

Office Update for Professional Edition 2003 fails searching for PRO11.MSI.
When I insert the product CD there's a file, PRO11N.MSI at the CD root, but
this is not accepted. Search HD for PRO11.MSI and none is found.

Now what?

This article explains your issue.
In a nut shell your office 2003 on the computer is a volume licence copy or
is what is more commonly known as a cooperate version
Your cd is a retail copy somehow the copy on the the hard disk is not the
same as your cd.
Uninstall office 2003 from your system and reinstall using your cd.

Thanks, I have un-installed Office Pro & re-installed. Now I'm getting this
message trying to install Office SP1. Complication - I have corporate
licenses for MS Project and One Note installed with personal (retail)
licenses for Office Pro and Visio. I know, what a mess.

I'd like to be able to keep both series of programs/licenses (retail and
corporate) up-to-date. Is there any way to do this without unloading and
re-installing?

I appreciate the help.
