Office Update for Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter does not install.

I cannot install any Office updates. They download, go through the motions,
then give a message they were not installed. My office disk is in the drive
and the install program never requests it.

No, that does not help. As I said in my original post the update goes through
its normal proceedure, except at the end it says, "Installation Unsuccessful"
in red, followed by "Update for Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter (KB890854)."
That is the only message I get.

I have more information. I downloaded the exe file from Microsoft and
attempted to install it directly from the exe file. This time I did receive
an error message.

Error 2902. An internal error has occurred. (jxfAsemblyCopy )

I am my Information Technology Department and I am confused. The first
letter following the ( is really too small for me to read it could be j or i.
The blanks following Copy and proceeding ) are as in the error message.

Sadler,

More questions:

What version of Office 2003 do you have?
Was it pre-installed by your computer manufacturer, or did you run setup
from the CD?
Have you tried to repair the Office installation from the CD?
Have you applied any patches at all in the past?

I have:
Microsoft Office Professsional Edition 2003 (11.6359.6360) SP1

I installed from CD.

No, I have not executed a repair.

As indicated I have installed all critical patches until this last one.

I keep XP Professional updated consistantly.

I have already updated to SP1. It is an update to Outlook regarding 2003 Junk
Email Filter (KB890854). Is my only problem.

In one of your previous mail to me you asked if I had repaired Office 2003. I
had not, but now I have and everything works, including updates. Thanks for
the suggestion.

Yes, I understand--but the same fix might have applied.

I'm checking into the error; I'll post back.
