office update is already running in another browser

I am trying to run Office Update but keep getting the message "office update
is already running in another browser." I do not have Windows or Office
automatic update running.

You may see this if IE crashed and didn't release the mutex that prevents
multiple instances of it to run. A reboot should solve this issue.
