Office Update issue with detection of OFF2KSP3

After recaching/updating a client with Office 2000 SP3
from an administrative share the client now reports SP3 is
installed from "About Microsoft Word" or "About Microsoft
Excel". However when I go to Office Update it still says
it is not installed. Anyone ever see this before, and know
how to resolve it? I checked the files on the client, and
they are at SP3 level too.

I started having this same problem yesterday. I now have
several Win98 machines in this state. Office 2000 Service
Pack 3 is already installed according to the individual
programs, eg. Word and also if I try to install it
manually using O2kSp3.exe. But Office Update still says it
needs to be installed and when I do it doesn't complain
but when I check again for updates it's still there so I
can't get on to the newer patches.

When I first went to Office Update there were two SP3
items there, the one that's still there and one called
Disc 2. Disc 2 apparently installed properly since it is
no longer listed as available.
