Office update keeps telling me I need to install OfficeXP SP1 and a myriad of other Office XP update

When the only OfficeXP app I have installed is Access, and on help about it
indicates it is at SP2 (which indicates I must have SP1 already installed.)
I have run into this same problem at a client that is running Office XP
exclusively - and Office update keeps telling me I need to install the SP1,
SP2, etc. when they are already installed! Why is this occurring?

Do you have any other 2002 products on that computer, such as Publisher,
Visio, etc.?

Hi Mike,

The Help=>About listing isn't always as accruate as
the properties of key DLL files, but it's also possible
to 'lose' part of the update structure.

It's possible that the cached update files have been
deleted from the \Windows\Installer folder. See if
you can complete Detect & Repair successfully from
the Help Menu in Access 2002 and/(or first)
delete the Office Update control thru IE
Tools=>Internet Options=>General=>Settings=>View Objects,
clear the browser cache as well then visit http://officeupdate.com
again.

==========
Nope, just triple-checked. Nothing but Access 2002.

I just went around the complete office and ran all the updates the online
updater said I needed, so it will be synchronized.
