Office Update should have an internet installation option.

I am volunteering in Costa Rica and, like a good little girl, was trying to
update my Microsoft Office with so-called critical updates. Now, since my
CDs are 2,000 miles away, I can't use Excel (which I use heavily here for
cataloguing receipts and books in the library I've started) until I get back
because I need those CDs to install. RIDICULOUS!!!!! Why isn't the
installation stuff online? Why didn't they warn me before I installed??? I
even checked the box that said I didn't have access to my CDs, but yet it
keeps demanding them.

Windows Update never requires a CD. Personally, I've had done with all this
anti-piracy hooha. I bought the CDs, but I don't have access to them. Why
should I be over a barrel about it?

Does Microsoft have any viable competition? This has me annoyed enough that
I'd start all over again and switch if someone could make it easier.
