I've been having similar problems as many others here. After re-installing
Office 2000, I couldn't install SP3. I finally downloaded the entire
O2KSP3.exe file and it installed successfully - partially! The problem that
I have now is that when visiting Office Updates, the site keeps saying that I
don't have SP3 installed yet, and all future updates are still unavailable.
The SP3 installation gave me an "installation successful" notice!!! I've
tried using the Install Cleanup utility as well as copying the disks to a
network drive and reinstalling by "Run"ning "drive:\setup.exe /Autorun".
This at least installs the SP3, but still no luck with the Office Updates
site!!! Is this bug just being ignored by Microsoft? I've also contacted MS
Tech Support for pages of solutions - none of which even addressed the
problem!!!
Does anyone have any suggestions?
