Office Update will not work

S

Susanherna

When I check for Office updates, I get the message that my system settings
prohibit me from downloading updates manually and says to check with a system
administrator. This is my OWN personal computer at HOME! I don't have any
administrator. How do I change the settings to download the updates. This
just started happening. I never had a problem before!

Office Update is no more. You now must use Microsoft Update.

Maybe it hasn't happened yet. I understand it was to go away soon.

I don't have any problem opening Office Update. The problem is with
downloading the updates. The website says that I don't have permisssion to
download updates and to contact a system administrator! This is on my own
PERSONAL computer at HOME!!! What is going on!

Most probably. I know it is being discontinued but lost the approximate dates along
with some of my memory upstairs. LOL

Ok a few things can happen, one your user account has changed, what OS are
you using? Then the next thing is administration permissions have been
changed to enterprise, this could be from malware that could have slipped in.
Do you know where to look in the control pannel to check?
