Office Update won't allow downloads

This has me slightly perplexed. TIA to all that can help.

Whenever I visit the Office Update site
(http://office.microsoft.com/officeupdate/mainCatalog.aspx?Mode=1), I learn
that I need the updates after O2KSP3. (I just reformatted my HD and got
O2KSP3 through the MS Download site, not the Office Update site.)

When I select any (or all) item(s) and click "Agree & Install", I
immediately receive the Office troubleshooter page.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it? I'm simply trying
to keep my computer up-to-date.

You don't mention if you tried any of the steps in the troubleshooter page,
or in this page:

How to troubleshoot failures updating your Office installation from the
Office Update Web site:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;304498

Office Update should be detecting updates applied successfully, whether or
not they came from download or automatic update detection.
