I posted in a previous thread before and did not receive any anwers relevant
to solve my ongoing issue. I have issues updating Office 2003 after the July
batch. This includes the Excel update(918419). I can't figure out why it
won't install and I have tried every possible suggestion out there. I have
tried disabling AV and Spysweeper. I have tried the manual registry entry. I
have tried LISTool to correct the corrupted local installation tool. I even
tried slipstreaming Office 2003 with all the proper updates. The weird thing
is that this problem only applies to a certain group of pcs. With the newer
machines, with updates deployed by WSUS, everything installs fine. With these
older PCs, they won't install. These PCs are DELL GX150, Pentium III with
upgraded Windows XP professional. I just want to ask again to see if anyone
had any other suggestions for me to try. And if anyone knows what is the
prerequisites for the Excel and Office 2003 update, let me know. The WSUS
states that there is a superseded update needed prior to these
updates.....perhaps that may be to cause. I am stumped and any suggestions
that I haven't tried will definitely benefit me. Please help.
