I see a lot of these postings, but none that seem to be a duplicate of what
I'm encountering, so I thought I would give it a try. I've got 5 updates
that constantly sit in my tray without installing. I've tried numerous
times, and all I get is "....failed". No message, no error code....just
"failed". Other Windows updates are installing fine, but the ones
pertaining of Office won't. Someone told me first to ensure the Windows
Genuine Advantage update has installed, and it has; but that other than
that, I would need to remove and reinstall Office--that something's been
corrupted (forget what he said it was). This would be Office 2003, Visio
2003, and Office2000 (I just use the Shortcut bar and PhotoEditor from that
version). I really hate to have to do that unless absolutely necessary, so
I thought I'd just try one last time to see if anyone's encounter this
problem and successfully resolved it.
Thanks for any help....
