Office Updates

Please tell me if there is any way that I could purchase Office Updates from
Microsoft on a CD. I am a dial-up user and I cannot do downloads because my
Internet connection is constantly being reset and interrupting downloads.

I also have trouble with Windows Updates but have obtained the SP1 and SP2
CDs which have helped but now have more updates that need to be installed.

I know my solution would be to go with DSL, however that would cost an
additional $20/month.

Thanks for information.

If you'd like to download them, open another browser and go to Metacrawler's
Metaspy or similar website that auto-updates the page frequently.
Many ISP's now have their systems set up so if no traffic is seen on port 80
within a certain amount of time the connection is terminated.
The page updates fool the ISP into thinking your surfing the net and then
they won't disconnect you.

Another website that updates frequently is http://refdesk.com/ which I use
as my home page, although it doesn't update as frequently as Metaspy's 15
second intervals.
I've never timed Refdesk but I think it refreshes the page about every 20
min.

Thanks, I diid manage to download the updates after numerous reboots and
downloads. I am grateful that Microsoft has restart points in downloads. But
I am ordering CD for purposes of ever having to reinstall which I have
done.
