Office upgrade version

I want to install my Office 2003 upgrade version on my new computer but I no
longer have the CDs for the full version of Office 97, which the upgrade
version needs to see to know I'm eligible to load it. So how do I install
the upgrade?

Without them, you can't. Are you sure you no longer have the CDs? Are you
sure they aren't hiding in a box somewhere?

You'll need to purchase a "Full Version" of Office 2003
if you no longer have a qualifying Office CD.

As others have noted, you need to software to qualify. If you no
longer have it then do you have any of the Microsoft Works versions?

Works 6.0, 7.0 or 8.0 and Works Suite 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004,
2005, or 2006 are all qualifying products. If you don't have either
then you should be able to pick up a copy of Works a lot cheaper than
a full version of Office.
