Office v.X and new G5

I just moved Office v.X from my G4 to a new G5.
When I try to open an Office document (Word or Excel) I always get the
message, "This action will open Microsoft Word (Excel) for the first
time. Do you want to do that?"
This message ALWAYS appears even if I have opened that document several
times before.
Any ideas?

This is a security message from Panther (just later versions, I think),
telling you a new program is getting launched on your computer (in case it's
a virus triggering something completely new). But you should get it only
*once* for each program. You might see if again if you update, as Word 11.1
is a new program, since Word 11.0 was launched before.

Which document doesn't matter, and you should also have seen this message if
launching other third-party programs for the first time. I got the same
thing for Acrobat, and EndNote.

If Panther is giving you this message on repeated launches of the exact same
program, I don't know what's up. Try some OS maintenance like repairing
permissions.

I get that rather often with various programs... As far as I am
concerned it's a bug in the system.

I suspect the system considers an application as being launched for the
first time if it's not in the launch-info database yet. Either the
system fails to read this file properly or it gets corrupted (or the
apps are not properly added) but in any case, it looks like something
that really needs to get fixed.
I find it realllllly annoying,
