office v.X and office 2004 for Mac

Is or was there an offer to upgrade from Office v.X to Office 2004 for Mac?
My school purchased a license for many copies of the student/educator
version of Office v.X just prior to the release of Office 2004 for Mac. Any
reason to be concerned about upgrading?

Any help/direction would be great.

If you purchased Office 10 between January 6, 2004, and June 30, 2004, you
were entitled to FREE upgrades to 2004. You'd be charged only $10 for
shipping per copy.

You'd need the bar code (proof of purchase) from the original v.X box and a
copy of your dated sales receipt. Go to the MS site and look for the
coupon, which is labeled "Microsott Office 2004 for Mac North America Retail
Technology Guarantee coupon". It may be that the offer has expired by now.

Good luck.

Prospective upgraders should check the MacTopia site to get the exact
dates (they vary from country to country).

Currently, MS has extended the Technology Guarantee to cover purchase of
Office v.X from 6 January 2004 to 30 September 2004, at least for
US/Canadian customers.

In addition, rereading the original post, the Technology Guarantee is
probably not applicable to his school, which purchased "a license for
many copies of the student/educator version of Office v.X". Volume
licensing is different, and the school should contact its sales rep.
