Office v.X compatible with Tiger?

D

I have just purchased Tiger and am about to do the upgrade. I own
office v.X. Is it compatible with Tiger? I want to be sure, as I cannot
afford to buy 2004 right now!!!

Thnx a lot.

There should be no problem whatsoever. Just one thing: if you're using
Entourage as your default e-mail client, make sure you add your Office
identity folder (Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office X identities) to
Spotlight's privacy list, which can be found in the System Preferences. The
reason: Spotlight can't index Entourage's database, but it keeps trying to
do so nevertheless, with the result that Entourage freezes occasionally. By
putting your Office identites on the privacy list, you're telling Spotlight
that you don't want it to try to index this folder, which should keep you
out of trouble.

It's been discussed on this and other related Microsoft newsgroups.
Entourage uses a database format which, at the moment, cannot be indexed by
Spotlight: this means that Spotlight will not be able to search your
Entourage data, whether e-mails, contacts or calendar events. I'm just
telling you in advance so that you won't be disappointed too much, or think
that Spotlight and/or Entourage is broken.

Good luck if you have an HP printer; I have had problems with Tiger and
HP printer compatibility. Suggest you also visit the forum on WORD.

Is this with just Office v.X, Tiger, and HP or some other combo?

I have Office 2004, Tiger, and an HP LaserJet 1012. They all print
without any problems here. Word, Excel, Entourage.

For me it has been just just Office v.X, Tiger, and HP.

I understand the best bet these days is to use a Brother with your
Apples.
