Office v.X Student/Teacher Edition

M

Mike Jackson

Hi.

Is anyone here from the UK and have they had any experience in purchasing
and registering office v.X for Mac student/teacher edition?

I read that the student teacher version of Office 2003 for the PC comes
without a CD and instead a form is enclosed that has to be filled in and
sent off. Upon verification of the form, the CD is then posted along with
the CD Key. Is this the same for Office v.X for Mac ? Or

Does Office v.X use product activation as in Office XP and Windows XP? Or

Does the product come with the CD and CD Key but you have to satisfy the
company you purchase from that you are a qualifiying student?

Apologies for the questions I¹m just trying to get a feel for how the whole
process works.

Thanks in advance

Mike.

Yes. Just done it this week (or at least my wife did bought and
registered it and I installed it).

This is the way it used to work. You bought a box, and filled in the
form inside and Microsoft sent you either the PC or the Mac version as
requested. Shortly after Office XP came out on the PC the process
changed, and for both PC and Mac versions you buy a box with the CD's
in.

No.

We bought from the Apple Education store. To set up an account on that
site we needed to identify the educational institution with which we
were associated, and give a name. I assume they check this with the
institution. We then just selected Office in the online store and
waited a week and a half for it to be shipped. The package comes with
THREE CD keys, as the licence allows Office to be installed on up to
three Mac's if you have them.

No problems.

Regards,

Richard
