I don't know if this is the right place to post this
question, so if it's not, I apologize.
I installed some third party software on about 20 pc's
here. Everything went fine until the last one. I
completed the install and when we rebooted the machine,
all of the Microsoft Office applications and Visio would
not work. We tried to uninstall Office to reinstall, but
it wouldn't even let us uninstall. This software does not
use Office at all, so I don't understand why it happened.
This computer is also configured the same as the others
(as far as we can tell), but it didn't happen to any
others. We finally downloaded Service Pack 1 from
Microsoft's website and the office applications now work
again. However, it still won't let us install Service
Pack 2 (which is what everyone here is using). We have
backed up his pc and want to try the install again,
however, I'm apprehensive about this. I don't feel
comfortable since we don't know what the problem was. Of
course, the third party software said it wasn't because of
their product. Has anyone run into anything like this
before? If anyone has any suggestions on how we can avoid
this in the future, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
