Office, Word 2003 FREEZING

My word freezes fairly often... sometimes for 30
seconds. It's very annoying...
any ideas?

The microsoft office update site says i don't need to
install any updates.. oh yea and i'm on Windows XP
professional too..

Hi Alan,

Does it happen if you are using a particular document, or does it happen if
you start Word and start typing? Is Word the only application that freezes?
What happens if you run your PC in safe mode does it freeze? What are the
h/w details of the computer experiencing this issue?
