Office X Applications Fail

I can not launch any Office X applications in OS 10.2.8. They all fail. I've
uninstalled and reinstalled several times with the same results. Has
anyone else had any experience with this problem?

The Usual questions: Is this something new, or have you never been able to
launch theses apps? How did you proceed the uninstallation of Office? Using
the "Remove Office" tool (to be found on the Office CD)? If you create a new
Mac OS user Identity and then try to launch Office, does it run or is it
crashing again? Did you download and apply the 10.1.2, 10.1.4 and 10.1.5
Updates?

The kind of situation you encounter is sometimes related to corrupt fonts.
Not an easy job, but you should give it a try, moving the fonts out of the
different "Font" folder on your HD.

You can also try deleting the Office font cache from your preferences.
In some occurences, you get the same problem with a (not up to date)
DivX codec.

I was told that upgrading to 10.1.2 solves this. It worked for one of
our computers but not the other.

It depends on what is at the source fo the problem. Of course, it's
always better when the system and Office are up to date...
