I haven't seen reports that it did not. However Office X is End of Life
software. You can buy the Student and Teachers edition of 2004 now for $150
and get the $500 version of Office 2008 for $10.

Microsoft is now offering Office 2008 for Mac Special Media Edition FREE*
when you buy ANY qualifying Office 2004 for Mac product!

Instead of getting an equivalent copy of Office for Mac 2008, you get the
full featured Office 2008 for Mac Special Media Edition. * You only pay
shipping and handling.

Hi, I just posted a message detailing the problem I have had with
Leopard, Office and my G5 (Dual 2 GHz, 4 GB RAM). Office simply won't
install. Maybe it's a PowerPC thing...
