Office XP 2002 Upgrade to Office 2007 problem

Steve J

I successfully installed Office 2007 to my PC, but when I go to using any
Office program such as Excel, Word, the program crashes. I noticed during
installation of Office 2007 that Office XP 2002 is supposed to be removed
automatically. But when I go to Programs, I can still open Excel, Word,
Powerpoint in the old XP 2002 formats. When I try to open a file directly,
it opens in Office 2007 but immediately Office 2007 (be it Excel or Word or
PowerPoint) crashes. When I go to Add/Remove programs, it still shows MS
Office XP Pro (2002) is on th elist, but when I click remove it acts like
they are already gone. Help!! There seems to be a conflict. Thanks!

Office 2007 will open earlier version files in the old format
Insert the Office 2007 and select Office diagnostics

As to add/remove 2007 will only have updated components included in whatever
version of 2007 you purchased leaving any XP components not included in the
2007 version intact
