Symptoms:
I am attempting apply Service Pack 2a using an
Administrative Update for Office XP in my environment. I
have successfully updated my installation point using the
msiexec (msiexec /a Admin Path\MSI File /p C:\Oxpsp2a\MSP
File SHORTFILENAMES=1). I checked the file versions and
they are correct.
After running msiexec (msiexec /i Admin Path\MSI File
REINSTALL=Feature List REINSTALLMODE=vomus) to update my
product, the file versions are not updating. I have
checked both the Help, About menu and the file version of
the EXE. They are still retaining the old versions. the
log file also says that the upgrade was successful.
I have attempted un-installing Office XP and running the
install again and I am still seeing the old file versions.
However, when I run MBSA,it reports that I do not need to
apply Service Pack 2a and it seems to think the product is
updated. I just can not tell via the Help, About menu or
the EXE's.
Is this a registry problem?
