Office XP....again

My message seems to have been deleted.

Anyway, myquestion was:

I have XP Home Op System and MS Works. I have been told
I can install Office XP Small Business......is this
correct?

Don't want to shell out a fortune if this isn't the right
advice.

Thanks

According to MS Knowledge Base Article 290540, Works is not a qualifying
product for an upgrade to Office XP. You can, of course, purchase a Full
Version and install it alongside MS Works.

Your message has *NOT* been deleted - if you used a proper newsreader rather
than posting via the web you'd have been able to search for your post.

I will quote my reply again...

Your colleague is in violation of the EULA (End User Licence Agreement) by
offering that to you. XP SBE is an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)
licence and, as such, has a very limited licence.

1) It is permanently tied to the first system it's installed on - no
matter what fate befalls that system

2) It does not qualify for assistance from Microsoft - all assistance is
provided by the OEM.

3) It is non-transferable - unless the hardware is also transferred.

You can use Works as a qualifying product for 2003.
