Office XP and blank clip art pics

I have a user that is using Office XP sp2 on Windows XP
sp1. when in word she inserts a clip art picture. the only
thing that displays is a box where the picture should be.
sometimes if you click on the picture one time then right
click it you can shoose edit picture. when you do then the
clip art picture appears. very strange. Any ideas?

On the View tab of Tools | Options, clear the box for "Picture
placeholders."
