Office XP and Office 2000

I need to know if the file format is the same in Office XP, as I am upgrading
to Office 2000. Because some users may still be on Office 2000 for a long
period and some have a habit of using standard format instead of using rtf
formats as a example so I dont want to get any corruption. I believe that
File format is different

I am using Professional and Standard..

You can easily share documents between 2000, 2002 (XP) and 2003. In some
instances you can even share files back as old as Word 97 but macros
developed in the newer version MAY not work in Word 97 due to the difference
in the VBA. All versions save as .doc files.
