Are there any known problems with having office xp and
office 97 installed on the same PC? I have both installed
on a pc with Windows XP O/S. Has anyone had problems with
this.

Earlier version has to be installed first, then updated, edit shortcuts,
before installing later version.
Only a single version of Outlook may be installed

Regardless of which you install first and any other steps
you take -- there will always still be some conflicts.

You might experience conflicts in Help (and other shared
files) as well as addin applications (for example -- you
might get the XP version of MS Graph if you attempt to
create a chart in PowerPoint 97 -- and that can cause a
host of issues).

If you need to support both on the same computer -- can
you add a second hard drive? Office 97 will still find
the newer version's addins even if you partition a single
drive.
