Office XP - annoying drop down menus

R

RA

Have just started using Off XP and have gone in and turned everything
I can find off, but I still get the drop down menus from File, Edit
etc while working within a document. They just drop down and I have
to stop and click to remove them so I can continue. Also, everytime I
type the letter "p" I get the print menu. Now what. TIA

Hi R.A.,

Generally accidentally using the Alt key with the character
underlined such as V for View menu will activate the menu.

It's also possible that the keyboard, if customizable, has
been modified to work with 'shortcut' keys for certain actions.

This is a brand-new installation. Other than my going through all the
dialogue boxes in options etc.and turning off (unchecking) everything
possible) this is the way it came. I was just using it. Looking at
a page in a document with some pictures, trying to decide how to
arrange them, the cursor was sitting in a blank spot in the document,
no fingers on keyboard and up pops the file drop down menu.
(by the way, how do you like CIS's new forum look?)

If you have a microphone turned on, turn it off.
