Office XP CD's

My brother bought Office XP Profession from some site off
the web. When the CD's arrived they had the Edge-to-Edge
Hologram. They also said "Not for Retail or OEM
Distribution". They also said "Unlicensed Software -
Illegal without seperate license from Microsoft".

What has he purchased?

He can't "make" it into a legal purchase. He has been scammed,
hoodwinked, bamboozled, taken or whatever term you wish to use. He has a
useless CD and the other person has the money.

How can he make it a legal purchase?

I am interested then, what is the "Not for Retail or OEM
Distribution" cd for then.

He said the vendor will let him return it....we'll see it
it actually happens.
