OFFICE XP / default Font

I have received an e-mail using a foreign Font. I had that font in my
library. I responded the mail using the same font. Now, I can not go back to
my standard font I use for my mails and word documents.
I changed the Style. I changed the font to my default font before I started
typing. Still, the font goes back to that foreign font. I deleted the Style
with that particular Font. I made my default Style as Normal. With a first
key stroke the Style becomes Normal+ Virinda (the foreign font). When I open
a new Word page - the page shows my default styles and fonts.
I can delete the font which I really do not want to. Is there any way, I can
go back to my normal setting without removing the font?

Please ignore this post. I was trying to see what else I could do. The word
Document crashed and the software created a backup copy. Once I pulled up the
back-up copy - the system asked whether I want to go back to my normal style.
A positive response cleared up the whole thing. So, it is OK now.
By the way I ran Defender to see if there is any thing bad happened. It came
out clean.
