Hi,

Just a quickie today.

What tools do you get extra in Office XP Developer Edition?

Are you still able to develope for Office 2000 using this edition?

Those questions are primarily regarding Access.

What you get in the developer edition of Xp is described in the guide which
is downloadable from this web page:

You can develop Access 2000 dbs with the developer edition, however the run
time that comes with the Xp edition is the Access Xp run time.

Being the Access XP runtime, how would this effect the developement and
distribution of the database front-ends?

We currently have an Access 2000 backend to our database (which is becoming
excessivly large now at 1.2Gb) and are looking to migrate to SQL 2000.

What you you mean how would this effect development? In Access Xp you can
create dbs with A2K or A2K2 format. If you create them with A2K2 format
they can't be run in Access 2000. The Xp run time will run both formats
without a problem. Or if your users have A2K on their desktops you don't
need the run time at all you might use the extra tools.
