office xp disappeared

so im in college and i need to send files to my
professors in microsoft word. my brand new computer was
recently reformatted because of some random problem that
shouldnt have happened in the first place, but now my
microsoft office is gone and for some reason its not on
the drivers. i shouldnt have to guy a new disk. how do i
get it back?

If Office XP came preinstalled by the computer manufacturer on your new
computer, then you should be able to restore Office XP to the newly
reformatted hard drive from your System Restore CDs. If you installed
Office XP yourself, you can reinstall it from the Office XP CD.
