Office XP error due to 2003 Trial

I just purchased a new laptop and installed office XP I had purchased a
couple of years ago. The new computer came with a 2003 trial, which I did
not intentionally use. I went to download from the Office website updates
for my Calender. My Activation failed(passed on XP Standard) for "no
activation key for Office 2003".
So, I uninstalled 2003(I was scared to do this), and guess what- now I have
install errors opening up Outlook, saying "Error 1706" files can not be found
installing office Standard.
Hopefully a repair will help, but giving a trial unasked for, and
invalidating my software for updates even when the 2002 version passes is
crazy!

You should allways install the earlist version first, so by installing Oxp,
when there existed a trial version all manor of problems may have occured.

Uninstall all versions of Office and reinstall the one you want.
