Office XP files slow to open

Office XP files are very slow to open on a PIII Compaq
Deskpro (730Mhz, 386RAM) but only from the folder or
desktop level. Once in Word, I can open files very
quickly.

This problem developed recently after applying the
MBlaster fix. I was told this would not cause the
problem, but I am suspicious.

Any ideas?

Check to make sure that your Temp folder is empty. This
affects the Office products performance.
