I have one client that is having a problem with Office XP.
Whenever she does a "Save As" in Excel, Word or Powerpoint
to her network home drive, as soon as she types the first
letter of what the file name is going to be the system
appears to stop responding. She can go off and get coffee
and such, come back 5 minutes later and it's freed up.
This only occurs doing a "Save As." She's running Windows
XP on her workstation, the server's Windows 2000 Server,
running Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition and behind a
firewall. All the latest service packs are installed.
This doesn't happen if saved to a local drive. Her home
directory on the server is mapped to H: on her computer,
just like everyone elses is. The network drive does show
as connected.
I even completely removed and reinstalled Office but it
didn't change a thing. I've disconnected and reconnected
the network drive exactly as Microsoft Knowledge Base
Article 313937 said, still no change.
Does anyone have any ideas in regards to this and how I
might resolve it?
Thank you
