Office XP - Has encountered a problem and needs to close

I've got a wireless laptop with the student version of
Office XP. When I'm at home I don't have any problems.
However, whenever/wherever I use an Office application
outside of my apartment it shuts down. It usually takes
about 10 - 15 seconds after I open the app. before I get
a message saying that Word/Excel/Outlook has encountered
an error and needs to close. Does anyone have any idea
what could be going on?

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling but seem to have no
luck.

Hi Dave,

Do you have a network printer set as the default? If so then the
problem could be caused by not using a local printer driver.

If you are using a network printer driver then when the app goes to
query the printer driver it can not be found. Try removing the printer
and install it again using the Add Printer Wizard so the printer
driver is installed locally.
