Office Xp Indexing Services

Can anyone tell me what is Office Xp is doing in the back
ground with indexing searching services.I have nothing
running except my backup program which reported it has
backup all my files except for indexing services running
by Office Xp Before installing Office Xp my backup always
reorted everything backedup with no errors.

for... So that it would be easier to find them and that it wouldn't take
