I have a problem deploying Office XP from a admin install
point with a GPO. I have 3 installs MS Project, MS Visio,
and Office XP all installing from a share on a MS cluster
server. I get the following error message in Event View
for all three products.
Error message: 1612 The installation source for this
product is not available. Verify that the source exists
and that you can access it.
When enabling error logs on client with reg hack to the
Windows\debug folder ONLY Office XP is logging the same
error.
Visio and Project install or reinstall successfully.
Office XP will uninstall but not reinstall.
Setup: Office XP Enterprise Install to an admin share
point on a Microsoft Cluster server one DIR below APPS
share. Authenticated users with read and execute on Sub
Dir for all 3 apps. Office has all current patches
applied. GPO in AD 2000 set to uninstall unmanaged
installs on PCs.
I have checked security on shares, directories and the GPO
itself. Recreated it from scratch still get same
problems.
Have tested the GPO with admin install point installed on
a non-clustered server and works fine.
Has anyone had this problem with a cluster, or have any
suggestions?
Thanks in Advance
