Office XP Licence Question

If a registered user of this product has migrated to a Mac, and subsequently
doesn't want his Windows version of Office XP, is it legal for me to buy the
original disks from him and install it on my PC? The product has been
recently installed, and the vendor has suggested phoning Microsoft to
install the licence.

Apparently it comes on two hologrammed disks and a licence key.

Thanks in advance

Hi Peter,

If it's an 'OEM' edition it can't be transferred
to a different computer. If it's a retail product
then it can be transferred and using the telephone
activation method may be needed to explain the situation
to a MS activation technician.
