I purchased a copy of office xp pro a little while back, i
have the cd's and key codes and all but i cant find any
documentation. What does the EULA state as far as
installing and activating Office XP on a desktop and a
laptop of the same user. (Laptop will sync desktop) Is
this covered under EULA? How many pc can i install it on
as long as i am the sole user of those pc's? thx for
clarification. i tried a search but found a EULA that
wasnt very specific.

hi, Paul,
you replied to someone else that it is ok to have 2 copies of Office XP -- one on a desktop, one on a laptop.

We just bought a new computer (a 2nd desktop to replace our older box) and would like to load our existing copy of Office XP 2002 on it. The EULA is quite vague on this.

Can we load the software on the new machine and . . .
1. leave Office XP 2002 on the old PC? .. or . .
2. do we have to remove Office XP 2002 from the old PC .. or ..
3. do we have to buy a new copy?

(Note -- this is an Office XP Educational Version for Students and Teachers)

Does the electronic registration thing zip on over to Microsoft and decide this copy has already been registered and block it?

thanks,
alan

No you may not do this. The XP STE may be installed on *ONE* system at a
time. However, the 2003 STE may be installed on THREE systems - in whatever
combination you choose.
