Office XP, multiple file open, close all

We have installed Office XP SP 3and Project 2002
multilanguage.

By having i. e. 3 Excel files open, I get 3 task enties on
task list.

If I close 1 file, all files are beiing closed
immediately, but this is not my intention.

I only want to close this 1 file, and still want to work
with the 2 remainings.

Is there an option for more files open indepenently.

Sorry Ladies and Gentlemen,

rebooting the Windows XP cured the Problem.
