Office XP on Windows 2003 Terminal Server

R

Robert Rizzi

I have read alot of the ORK XP edition docs and found
nothing about Windows 2003 server mentioned. The KB is
empty on the subject also. I can't find the .MST for
Windows 2003 Terminal Server anywhere either, so I'm not
sure what they have planned for this.

So, I created my own .MST based on what worked in previous
versions of the ORK and I get this error in the event
viewer:

Product: Microsoft Office XP Standard -- Error 1932. Setup
cannot update file h:\program files\common files\microsoft
shared\web server extensions\50\bin\fp5autl.dll because it
is protected by Windows. You may need to update your
operating system for this program to work correctly.
Contact your Information Technology department for
assistance. Package version: 10.0.2623.0, OS Protected
version: 0.0.0.0, SFP Error: -536870349

Hi Robert,

There is no Office .MST requirement to install Office XP
on a Windows Terminal Server. That was only for
Office 2000.

See if you're using the same process as described here
http://microsoft.com/office/ork/xp/one/deph02.htm
and log in as administrator.

You may also want to use the procedure in this article
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;299606

The Office Resource Kits generally only specifically
address the versions of Windows that existed when the
edition of MS Office it supports was released.
