OFFICE XP opening SLOOOOW

R

Rocker

I install OfficeXP and everytime I open Word or Excel it takes about
30seconds before I get a screen.
I've uninstalled it and went back to Office97.
Has anyone figured out this problem yet?

Thanks,

I thought it was just me. It takes MINUTES to toggle
between files on Word, Excel, and Power Point. And it's on
a brand new machine. I've tried to find an answer on this
site but it keeps sending me to IBM and they send me back
to MS.

Hi Terry,

Check in File=>Print in Word to see if you have
a default printer selected. This can cause a delay,
especially if you're on a network. You can also
have this happen if a template file used with an
original document is not available.

You may also want to see if this update situation applies:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q823372
If so, phone MS as indicated to arrange for the download to
be available.
