I've recently uploaded SP3 for Office XP Pro 2002
Version, and now every time I try to open up Excel it
asks for the disks.
Thats fine, I insert the original disks (its an OEM
version), and then it gives an error message "The
file 'Microsoft Office XP Professional' is not a valid
installation package for the product Microsoft Office XP
Professional. Try to find the installation
package 'PRORET,MSI' in a folder from which you can
install Microsoft Office XP Professional."
There's a file on this original OEM disk (bought laptop
from DELL if this make a difference) called PRORET.MSI
(file size 3186KB, dated 08/03/01 6:19AM), but it still
doesn't like this.
How do I fix it?
If I try to open a new Excel document through "Start New
Office Doc" on the Program menu, Excel at least opens as
long as I ignore all the error messages, and so far seems
to work, but is certainly troublesome!
Thanks,
Andrew.
