Office XP Pro -- Subscription version (Perpetual license)

I've found this for as little as $225, a great deal compared with the retail
box, even on Ebay. I am wondering: are there any disadvantages to
purchasing this version of Office XP Pro? Thanks!

Hi J.R.,

The MS Office XP annual Subscription version was discontinued
by Microsoft and customer's were able to convert the
product to a regular (perpetual license) product by
contacting Microsoft. Whether MS is/will continue
to offer that conversion for an unlimited time is
unknown.

Hi J.R.,

My understanding is that the end users of the
subscriptions contact MS for the change. MS Retailers
would return the unsold subscriptions to the
distributors for credit and acquire boxed retail
license product.

Hi Bob,

Thanks! In fact, the company that is offering it for sale has to my
knowledge converted their inventory to the regular (perpetual license)
version, so this would be the version that I would be purchasing. >>
