Office XP Pro ver 2002 upgrade ; Can't use to add Power point to Office 2003

We got a new computer with Office XP 2003, but it doesn't
have Power Point. We got Office XP Pro version 2002
upgrade for our old computer, and I want to install power
point on the new computer, but when I try to install it,
it won't let me. It says it doesn't find a qualifying
product. I assume the 2002 upgrade won't recognize the
2003 Office product. Is there something I can do, other
than buying a 2003 upgrade or separate power point? Will
deleting the 2003 and then installing the XP 2002, and
then reinstalling 2003 do it?

Last question first. No, Office XP Upgrade will still require a qualifying
product.

Do you still have the product you used to install Office XP on your old
computer? Likely either Office 97 or Office 2000 is the product. When you
install an upgrade you should retain the qualifying product as part of your
installation license. If you still have the qualifying CD, just insert in
the drive when asked for a qualifying product and then browse to it. You do
not need to install the qualifying product.

If you do not still have the qualifying product, you can purchase the
upgrade version of Power Point 2003 and use your Office XP CD to qualify as
above.

You will need to insert the media in the drive when it asks for
qualifying product. You don't have to install the old Powerpoint
(office 97 perhaps) but you still need to insert in the drive so that the
install program can verify it.
