Works is basically a combination of a word processor, spreadsheet, calendar,
desktop publisher program that will do some simple tasks for non-business
projects. It is rarely ever used in a business setting. (I want to say never
but someone will undoubtedly tell me I'm wrong.) Office offers you more
functions in individual programs.
If all you need is something for your own use and prefer not to invest money
in an upgrade of Office, it may suit your needs. It's worth playing with it
since you own it.
